Everyone these days is trying to squeeze life out of every second of the day. People want to experience the good things in life. Unfortunately, a little thing called “work” always seems to get in the way! At times, it feels like your to-do list never ends. Luckily, I've got a few apps for freelancers up my sleeve that can help you get the boring stuff done so you can go outside and play. Check them out:
Still haven't filed those overdue tax returns from a few years ago? Neither have I. It's not because I don't want to, but because I have no idea what I'm doing. Plus, I'm too cheap to hire an accountant! If you find yourself in this same boat, text Track. Once you sign up on their site, they'll get to work on figuring out your tax situation, all over text. You don't even need to install an app.
2. Genius Scan
This app has saved me countless trips to the Fedex store. It lets you take a picture of any document with your smart phone. Then, you can convert it into a black & white image so that it looks like you scanned it! I haven't actually tried faxing an image to anyone — only scanning. But, businesses usually accept “scanned” documents via email, so it works like a charm in most cases.
I'm a big fan of meditation, as are most go-getters. There's so much going on in the world. Sometimes you need quiet time to sit and reflect, and empty that crazy mind of yours. Experts say the best way to do this is on the reg. So, if you're the kind of person that needs structure in their life, you'll want an app to help you. Aura is that app. It'll help guide you through a multitude of relaxation and mediation techniques. It'll open your eyes and calm your brain in very little time!
We all know that mentors are the key to success, but how many of us actually go out there and get one? Out of those, how many of you actually talk to them on a regular basis? That's what I thought. This app changes all that by making it dead simple to get solid advice from top minds, quick. You have no excuse to not ask that burning hiring question you have. Most of the “answerers” are free!
I'm a little indecisive on this one, but I put it on here because I'm still a believer! Shapr is like Tinder for networking. And, like Tinder, it's almost impossible to meet anyone on it. In fact, despite scores of matches and ensuing conversations, I still have yet to take a meeting! I like the concept though. I plan to keep the swipe-rights coming as often as I can, in hopes of one day meeting that special business contact.
6. Adobe Spark
This is a solid choice for all you on-the-go marketers out there. If you need to produce top-quality content at a moment's notice, there's three apps you can use. One is for creating news story-esque pages. One is for creating professional-looking videos. One for creating clean graphics with quotes on them, all on your phone! Pretty impressive.
So there you have it. By installing these apps for freelancers, you'll be well on your way to becoming a productivity machine. What are your favorites? Let me know if I'm forgetting any other big ones!
